T.S.A. IS WAY OUT OF CONTROL........SERIOUSLY ! ! !

Most responsible parents teach their children not to talk to strangers and if a stranger approaches them or tries to touch them in any way, the child should scream or try to get away from the stranger.

If we teach our children this so very important lesson, and It's hard to imagine a parent not teaching their child this lesson, why on God's green earth would we as responsible parents allow the perverts at the Transportation and Safety Administration grope and invade the privacy of our children ?

Back when the T.S.A. started this mess  at the Governments request, I never thought this was even possible, how naive of me. After hearing about the six year old girl who was traveling from the New Orleans  Airport to Kentucky with her parents, and was given one of this country's infamous pat downs, I really started to wonder if this Nation had totally lost it's sense of freedom, guaranteed by the Constitution.

By the time the T.S.A. was done violating this six year old's rights to freedom, she was crying and wondering what she did wrong !

I have a six year old and a four year granddaughter, and I can't even fathom either one of those two girls going through this. I hope and pray the some day the citizens of this great Nation will  demand that our lawmakers start obeying the Constitution, or we will not have any freedoms at all.

DID NANCY PELOSI LOSE HER MIND ?

I know Ms.Pelosi has a habit of saying things things that make absolutely no sense at all, I.E., "We have to pass the bill, so we know what's in it." Only second to V.P. Joe Biden, Nancy has turned talking stupid into an art form.

Her latest  foot in mouth treasure is "elections shouldn't matter as much as they do."

Do you know how many times I read that set of words just so I could make sense of it ?

She didn't stop there ! Pelosi seemed to urge Republicans to moderate their views so that the space between the parties is not so vast. Then, she imagined, elections wouldn't be so determinative.

WHAT ! ! ! Is she anywhere near serious ?

 "To my Republican friends, take back your party, so that it doesn't matter so much who wins the election because we have shared values about, again, the education of our children, the growth of our economy, how we defend our country," she said.


Pelosi went on to say: "There's so many things at risk right now ... but the fact is is that elections shouldn't matter as much as they do, (there) should be some place on the spectrum where we respect each other's views and all the rest."

I hate to burst her bubble, I know somebody has to do it, here goes. Ms.Pelosi, elections are supposed to matter, ALOT ! It's the centerpiece of our countries DNA.

 Ms.Pelosi, we live in a free country, with free elections, that absolutely DO matter. When the people we elect don't do the jobs they were elected to do, we elect new people to replace them in hopes they will do their job they were hired to do.

I know this is not a perfect system Ms. Pelosi, you are proof of that,although it beats living in a country where elections don't matter, such as Iran.

NASA CHOOSES SPACE SHUTTLES' RETIREMENT HOMES

If you're my age, (early fifties +/-) SpaceTravel was pretty cool! We all remember the Apollo launchs, The Lunar Moon Landing. I'm too young to remember John Glenn's famous launch into space ,but I do remember his historical ride on a space shuttle.

4.12.81, Thirty years ago today, the United States launched it's first ,Space Shuttle. this was a new form of space travel where as the Spacecraft itself was propelled into space by two solid rocket boosters and instead of falling into an ocean upon re-entry of the earths atmosphere, it would land on a runway just like an airplane, thus making the Shuttle a re-usable space vehicle.

Now, sadly, thirty years after it's arrival, the four remaining Space Shuttles will be taken out of service and will put on display for up close and personal viewing by museum visitors

The Discovery, will beon display athe the Smithsonian, The Endeavour will be on display at the California Science Center, The Atlantis will be on display Kennedy Visitor Ccomplex and the Enterprise, which was used for early glide tests, but was never put into orbit, will be on display at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museun in Manhattan.

Sadly, Columbia and Challanger were lost in space disasters. Columbia was lost in January1986 roughly 20 seconds into flight, after o-rings in one of the fuel tanks were determined defective.

The Challenger was lost in 2003, it exploded upon re-entry, due to missing heat shields.

Tragically, the crew from both Orbitors perished in the disasters. Godspeed to both crews.

It seems as soon as  the Atlantis takes it's final journey in June,  America's Space Program will be put in mothballs indefinately, at least our flying program.

 We will send astronaughts to the space station by renting rides forom the Russians. Who would have dreamed back in the late 50's to the early 60's when were racing the Russians into space, now we are using them for a taxi service

IT' S THE DEBT CEILING, STUPID !

The closer we get to the day of reckoning, that day when Congress will AGAIN give the Government more power and more money to spend, and we go further and further into dept, I wonder if this country really has a fighting chance

The Republicans are trying to offset this by demanding consessions from the Democrats. That's B.S. ! Asking for a guaranteed spending reduction or balanced budget admendment when you are borrowing more and more money is useless.

The only fix for the Debt Ceiling is to Cap the Debt Ceiling ! I know the Dems would have you believe the world would come to an end 5 minutes later, that's only because they would not be able to spend money like there is no tomorrow!

We could make this work, I cannot unerstand why the Republicans are caveing in on this issue.

If the Republicans give in and help raise the Debt Ceiling, 2012 will be the year of the Tea Party. The only people that will get re-elected are the people that didn't vote for the Debt Ceiling mess, deal or no deal.

Call the person you voted for in Washington D.C., Senator, Congressperson, call them and WARN them if they Vote for this, to start packing.

DEAR KATHY, IF ONLY WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN.

I'm going to go off the normal political rant today and touch on something more personal. Besides the politicians are busy getting ready for tonight's Big Government Shutdown.

How many of you, my devoted audience have heard of Esophageal Cancer ?

I was not introduced to this form of cancer until October, 2008.

I had just gone through a series of operations, the last of which I made it through by the skin of my teeth. A really serious bout of pneumonia, that bad that  I lost a rib in the process.

As I was on the mend for my own problems, I received, a phone call from my daughter. I found out her mother, my former wife ( ex -wife didn't fit) and best friend, (it's complicated,) was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. I never heard of that, what was it? was it curable ? My mind was racing. As time went on I realized that my best friend, the mother of my daughter, my former wife, was not going to win this battle.

That was gut wrenching. She passed away 2.18.10.

Death usually comes easy to me, there are exceptions. Young people ( birth to 30), people close to my age, or people under 60. these people did not get to realize the full meaning of life.

The purpose of this article, is to bring to light, Hope f you you know anyone with this disease, their might be hope, according to new research presented at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research in Orlando, Fla.

Studies found that eating frozen strawberries can reduce the risk of this cancer. Using freeze-dried strawberries was important because by removing the water from the berries, they concentrated the preventive substances by nearly tenfold.

Esophageal Cancer is the third most common gastrointestinal cancer, and the sixth most frequent cause of cancer death in the world.

God rest in peace, Kathy, We miss you !

OK, THIS IS GOLDEN, A UNION IS SUING THE WHITE HOUSE ! ! !

Just when I thought I have seen and read everything, Unions and the Government set out to prove me wrong.

The American Federation of Government Employees, is suing the White House, seeking details on the shutdown plans of federal agencies. John Gage, the union's national president, filed the lawsuit after the White House Office of Management and Budget,  failed to respond to a Freedom of Information Act request.

The O.M.&B. did not comment on the lawsuit, but the office said the administration "has taken steps to improve transparency and accountability within the Government." The agency called plans for a shutdown, pre-decisional at this time," and that more information will be given as it is finalized.

With Democrats and Republicans unable to reach a budget agreement, a shutdown could come as early as 4.8.11. The White House has written a memo to agency heads asking them to review and share their contingency plans for a shutdown.

Gage noted if their is a government shutdown, the unions will ask employees to report to their job sites early next week  to demonstrate that they are are ready to go back to work.

This is really history in the making.

THE AMERICAN FLAG, THE KORAN AND FIRE...........

People in this country have a very large mis-conception of the 1st amendment, the reading below might clarify that :

Freedom of Expression


It is often said that one of the rights protected by the 1st Amendment is the freedom of expression. This site, in fact, uses that term in its quick description of the amendment: "Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression." But "expression" is not used in the amendment at all. This term has come to be used as a shorthand, a term of art, for three of the freedoms that are explicitly protected: speech, petition, and assembly. While the use of "freedom of expression" is ubiquitous in this area of 1st Amendment study, it is important to note exactly what "freedom of expression" refers to — let this be such a note.

(Absolute) Freedom of Speech and Press

The Constitution does protect the freedom of speech of every citizen, and even of non-citizens — but only from restriction by the Congress (and, by virtue of the 14th Amendment, by state legislatures, too). There are plenty of other places where you could speak but where speech can and is suppressed. For example, freedom of speech can be and often is restricted in a work place, for example: employers can restrict your right to speak in the work place about politics, about religion, about legal issues, even about Desperate Housewives. The same restrictions that apply to the government do not apply to private persons, employers, or establishments. For another example, the government could not prohibit the sale of any newspaper lest it breech the freedom of the press. No newsstand, however, must carry every paper against its owners' wishes.

OK, absolutely nowhere in the writings above do i see where it says burning the American Flag, or the Koran, or the Bible is Constitutional.

these three Items, The American Flag, The Bible and the Koran are sacred items. And to disrespect them in any way, shows how much self-respect one has for himself or herself.

Now  I have just one small problem. Over the weekend, there was a Koran burning event by some nut-ob pastor. He should have received "zero" press coverage for this. That's what he wanted, ATTENTION ! My question is, why does nobody care when the people burn the American Flag, in this country or elsewhere. The Koran received plenty of media spin, and like I said, that's what the loony tunes pastor, but flag burning rarely gets attention, and ten of thousands of American men and women died for that flag.

It just bothers me.

SENATE DEMS BANKING ON BUDGET BATTLE FOR 2012 WINS.

It never ceases to amaze me how out of touch seasoned Politicians like Chuck Schumer D-NY, Harry Reid D-NV and other pros are in this 24/7 media age.

These Democrats are under the assumption that if the Tea party Congress members, persuade the Republican members in the House to reject any Democratic Budget, the Government would shut down.

The Democrats actually think a Government shutdown would work in their favor when the 2012 Elections get here. My question is, why do the think that ?

If there would happen to be a Government shutdown and the GOP caused it, it would be because they wanted more budget cuts than the DEM'S were willing to give. In the end, the GOP would be serving the Countries best interest by calling the DEM'S bluff and creating a GOV'T shutdown.

If the GOP caves in to the DEM'S inadequate budget cuts and GOV'T stays open, then The GOP looses in 2012.

The GOP won big in 2010 because the Country wanted fiscal responsibility, the DEM'S aren't offering that. The GOP is. If it takes a shutdown for the GOP to deliver , so be it.

AFSCME UNION LOCAL COUNCIL 24 USES STRON-ARM TATICS AGAINST SMALL BUSINESSES

It goes without saying that I DISLIKE unions. They held their place in history, provided a good service to the people thy represented, now they are a counter productive entity ruining our country.

I grew up in a Union household, I know what I'm talking about. Unions now, 2011,  are much different than they were in the 1930's and 1940's. the biggest issue in the 30's and 40's was workers safety. Now we have a Government agency named OSHA to protect ALL workers, not just Union members. Another big issue back then was people and CHILDREN working too many hours, today we have the Dept.of Labor and Industry to police these problems.

The only real purpose a Union serves today is, if you agree to work in a Union shop, (usually you don't have a choice,) they take a portion of your paycheck, and they pay lobbyist to payoff politician's to push for items you may not even want.

Now, on your upside and the Nation's downside, they do fight to get you the biggest paycheck possible. They also try to get you the worlds best benefit's and something not heard of in the real world, JO
B SECURITY. I worked in the real world for over thirty years. Want a raise?, Boss won't give you one, get another job. Want job security?, if your job looks like it is in danger, find another one. GET THE PICTURE !
Unions are  what destroyed the Automotive Industry, Steel Industry, Clothing Industry, you name it. If a job or industry went over seas, Unions were probably the reason. With un-heard of labor rates, benefit's packages etc. The Unions killed the job markets in this country.

Now, they are strong-arming small business into supporting the unions whether the small business is pro-union or not ! ! ! if the business doesn't do it, the Union will boycott them. That could kill a small business.

Unions are nothing more than legal Mobs. The U.S. Government should be looking into their seedy practices, and start taking them apart, piece by piece.

Unions aren't helping anybody, they are just hurting everybody !
