HOW WOULD WE HANDLE JAPAN'S TRIPLE DISASTER IF IT HAPPENED HERE ?

Tomorrow marks a week since the devastation that consumed Japan, has changed that country for at least a lifetime. The turmoil caused by the nuclear devastation will be felt at least a lifetime.

I started to think about our friends in Japan, and again my heartfelt prayers go out to the people over there, I started to wonder, if we were to suffer the same kind of triple disaster, would we and could we handle it ?

Japan's economy is severely compromised, it was before last Friday, which is only going to make matters worse. One can only guess how long and if Japan will ever truly fully recover. It's pre-disaster economic woes could hamper that.

Back to the United States, we've had disasters, like Katrina,  but nothing matches the severity that Japan has felt.

Here is a scary scenario. Diablo Canyon, a nuclear power plant located near Los Angeles and San Deigo, in a "perfect storm scenario" A 9.0quake positioned at the right place, a mind boggleing tsunami, and a crippled nuclear reactor could create a situation for the U.S. that it might not be able to recover from.

The over burdened economic climate in this country, could not handle such a tradgedy. Maybe NOW is the time to get our fiscal house in order. That's right, no one is listening, at least in Washington D.C.

If we ever have our own 3/11, I hope we look back to this week and somehow prepared for it.

Yours in Liberty !
