LIBYA : A TRUE DOUBLE - EDGED SWORD.

America just can't win, staying out of trouble that is.

We are like that cool kid in school who would step in the middle of a cafeteria fight, just to get the bully to stop picking on the less aggressive kid that was trying to keep his lunch money.

As of this morning , we are in a third war,  fourth if you count the border war with Mexican Drug Lords.

On the one edge of the sword, we are more or less expected to help innocent people of the world, against heartless dictators. That would be fine if we had the resources to do it, like money. Unfortunately, money is something we are lacking.

We will be borrowing money to send missiles into Libya. Speaking of Libya, here's a country that at one point in time would shake if one of our Naval Ships started to get close to their shores. They knew if they stepped out of line , we would be there to correct it. today, like many countries, Libya does not respect us, that's a direct result of our Leadership. It's weak. and the world knows it.

On the other edge of the sword, Col. Muammar al-Qaddafi,  the dictator of Libya, is brutally killing rebels who are trying to overthrow him. So here in lies the problem. Should we be there or not. Technically , our Congress should be answering that question, Our Constitution states that Congress should determine when our men go to war. Unfortunately our Congress is still trying to pass a budget they should have passed last September.

Whether we should be there is not for me to say, time will tell if we did the right thing or not. I will say this, I hope we don't get muddled down in another hopeless war. This Country would not stand for it.

Yours in Liberty,

Bob Yeager
