NOTHING IS FREE IN LIFE ! ! !

Before I start today's blog, I wish to apologize for not writing a blog yesterday. I was attending a close friends funeral, and by the time I came home, I was in no shape to do a blog.

My father, who taught me many valuable lessons in life, taught me that "nothing is free in life".

Who in their wildest dreams would have thought that my father was a Pa. State worker and a member of AFSMCE, the state employees' union.

When unions were first organized, the  unions job was to eliminate sweat shops, keep 12 year olds restricted from working, and eliminate mandatory 70-80 hour work weeks. They were a true voice for the blue collar worker.

Flash-forward to 2011. Unions have re-written their rulebook. Now the unions are only interested in obtaining fairy tale contracts that are unrealistic, especially in the public sector. Bloated financial contracts, non-realistic health care and retirement packages and to top it off, this is my favorite , job security .

Enter the Governor of Wisconson, Gov. Scott Walker. His focus was to reduce the states' $3.6 BILLION BUDGET, WITHOUT RAISING TAXES. Everybody is going to have to endure a little bit of pain here.

First stop, Teachers Union Contracts, and for good reason.

Gov. Walker wanted the teachers to pay 12.6% of their health insurance, they were paying  "0". The private sector avg. is 20%. He also wanted  teachers to pay 5.8% of their pensions , private sector avg.is 7.5%.

Remember, "NOTHING IS FREE IN LIFE AS THE UNIONS WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE.".

When the Wisconsin legislature went to vote on this there was not a Democrat to be found ! And you need at least one !

They all skipped town & the State so as not to have to vote.

Wusses !

The Gov. of Wisconsin had the State Police looking for them.

Wisconsin tax dollars at work.

Not sure how this is going to play out but it looks like Gov. Chris Christie is the only one not afraid to take on the corrupt Unions.

Yours in Liberty,

Bob Yeager
